Hoddlesden is on a hillside ranging from 700- 800 ft above sea level with the
surrounding hills up to 1300 ft, so a white Christmas is quite likely.
Hoddlesden Reservoir ( The Lodge) contains Carp, Tench and Pike-
( enquiries tel 01254 706713).
There is a small fish and chip cafĂ© , a post office and shop in the village.
Hoddlesden village is in an area of old mill towns and villages, some mills now restored as museums of a bygone age .

woods, with the visitor centre nearby (nice ice cream). Many walks over a wide area of natural parkland. Dont forget to visit Darwen tower , and perhaps finish at the nearby Sunnyhust pub,Tockholes rd (dogs are allowed). Try one of the Tower walks on a sunny day you wont be disapointed. See some of the stunning views. On a clear day the North Wales mountains can be seen.
